Orton-Gillingham
OG is a literacy program that places a strong emphasis on systematically teaching phonics so that students understand the how’s and why’s behind reading. Students develop knowledge and skills about how the alphabet works to become expert decoders.
Using language-based and multi-sensory techniques, children will explore literacy using multiple methods to figure out unknown concepts and then apply the knowledge they have gained to decode and encode new words.
Research shows that the OG literacy program is not only helpful for students with dyslexia, but can be a very helpful skillset for all children to learn how to read and write in a fun and engaging way.
