About the Founder/Teacher
Dear Reader,
Thank you for visiting my website! My name is Caroline. Students like to call me Ms. Caroline. I am the founder and the primary teacher at Mindful Mountain Learners, a private tutoring service based in Summit County, Colorado.
I was born in Sweden and raised in New England, and I am the second oldest of eight kids in a big ski-loving family! After earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Southern Maine, I moved to Breckenridge, CO, where I got a job as a ski instructor. This job first ignited my passion for teaching kids how to do cool things they can carry with them in life. It was much more than just teaching kids how to ski. Many students felt nervous or insecure about their physical and/or mental abilities when they arrived. I quickly learned what it took to ensure a child felt confident as they learned new skills. It was always rewarding to see a child progress during their lesson, yet I found the most gratifying experience was seeing how proud my students felt of themselves by the end of each lesson. In 2014, I decided to take my teaching to the next level. I was accepted to the University of Colorado-Denver and earned my Professional Teachers License (K-6) and Special Education Generalist Certification (Ages 5-21). I spent the next few years working as a Special Education Teacher in Summit County School District.
I recently received a certification for teaching Orton-Gillingham (OG), a research-based, gold-standard approach for teaching students literacy. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I am an incredibly dedicated and patient teacher. I am passionate about helping students who are academically struggling to feel successful and confident as they learn to read and write. I created Mindful Mountain Learners to allow kids to learn in a one-to-one setting, at their own pace and level, and using their own individual learning style. Students will develop a growth mindset as they become more confident in their abilities as students and as human beings.
I am proudly serving K-6 Learners who need some extra academic support. If you are curious about how I can help your child feel confident and more academically successful, please do not hesitate to reach out to Mindful Mountain Learners for a free consultation!
Warmest Regards,
Ms. Caroline
